The Role

• Our client is looking for a Head of Data (Engineering) to lead their commercial data platform and data engineering function, based in Bangkok and reporting to the VP of Engineering. 

• This is a 50% leadership and 50% hands-on role, partnering closely with Revenue Operations to build a trusted data foundation for commercial decision-making, financial reporting, forecasting, and AI initiatives. 

• You will lead a small team, distributed across Bangkok and London while working closely with senior stakeholders across Revenue Operations, Finance, Sales, and Customer Success.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Revenue Operations to define and deliver the commercial data roadmap. 

• Own the accuracy, quality, and reliability of recurring revenue and financial data. 

• Lead and develop a distributed data engineering team across Bangkok and London. 

• Own the end-to-end commercial data platform, including data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration tools. 

• Integrate data from billing, CRM, product usage, and customer communication platforms into trusted data sources. 

• Establish clear data architecture separating commercial reporting from product analytics. 

• Lead the transition from Tableau to Power BI and establish consistent business metrics and definitions. 

• Build scalable data models and foundations to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives. 

• Drive data governance, quality, lineage, documentation, access control, and data hygiene. 

• Partner with AI and engineering teams to make business data AI-ready. 

• Work closely with senior stakeholders, including the CFO and CRO, to communicate data strategy and progress. 

• Stay hands-on with technical design, architecture, code reviews, and problem-solving when needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering teams. 

• Strong technical background in data engineering, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, and data modelling. 

• Experience with modern data platforms such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks. 

• Strong understanding of SaaS commercial metrics, including ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, expansion, cohorts, and customer segmentation. 

• Experience supporting Revenue Operations, Finance, Sales, or Customer Success teams with data products and insights. 

• Strong experience with BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau. 

• Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with confidence working with UK-based teams. 

• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly. 

• Experience building data governance, metric definitions, and trusted sources of truth. 

• Strong interest in AI and an understanding of how high-quality, well-governed data enables AI solutions. 

• Willingness to work approximately 10:00 - 18:00 Bangkok time to maintain regular overlap with the London team.

Bonus Skills

• Hands-on experience with AWS. 

• Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools. 

• Experience with reverse-ETL platforms such as Hightouch. 

• Familiarity with PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar product analytics tools. 

• Experience working with CRM and customer conversation data for analytics or AI. 

• Experience with semantic layers, metrics stores, or AI/LLM-ready data platforms. 

• Experience in Revenue Operations or revenue analytics within a SaaS environment. 

• Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones.
